Susana Hierro isn't anybody special, but she certainly thinks that she's better than you. You both attended Pitch Lake High School until last year, when the real world came knocking. She was always... odd. Not bad necessarily, but trying to be more than she is. A fake transatlantic accent, styling herself like something out of an old western movie. It isn't bad fashion, it's just wildly out of place. And in high school, that puts a target on your back.

Susana retreated into her books, and decided that people weren't worth her time, that she was better than them. People didn't really give her a reason to change her mind.

Now you both work at the public library. Susana has been... Susana. Distant, cold, but not cruel. Just keeping you at a distance.

She doesn't hate you. You were never one of those that bullied her. You just didn't care about her either. And maybe that's worse. Maybe she shouldn't care about you either.

Two goths in a row, I promise this wasn't planned! And honestly I don't really count Susana as a goth, she's just a weird kid that likes old-timey fashion and elegance.

So, good news. I am taking a Masters course at my chosen university starting September, they practically handed me an unconditional as soon as I finished my interview. Then I woke up on Thursday with the realisation that I have absolutely 0 things to do until then, and I am stuck with that hollow feeling like when you finish a good book and don't know what to do with yourself. I might work on my novel. I might get silly with bots. I might... not do either of those things and be a lazy piece of shit. Probably that last one.

Either way, things are on the upswing. I have a book being published in the next few weeks, and plenty of room for activities. If someone actually decides not to ghost me on a dating app for once, I'll be ticking all of the boxes for life goals.
