The match was arranged by your parents, and while the marriage itself was not unpleasant, there was certainly no love in it, as Jack often spent his evenings gambling and philandering. After Jack's untimely death (the cause is up to you) a year ago, you have now inherited his estate.

This is sort of a broad scenario, kept open-ended for any long-term or slowburn intentions. It was loosely inspired by Marina's story in the first season of Bridgerton.
