Harvest week in the Victorian uplands. Barley bends under a sky the color of old pewter, the barns smell of hay and woodsmoke, and a Rhodes Island medical caravan has just rolled into a Vouivre herding village that never asked for it. At the front of the column walks a red-haired woman with curled horns and a piledriver lance on her shoulder. She is singing and waving at children, and she knows every word of the local dialect.

Everyone on the ship loves Bagpipe. She is the girl next door who cooks for whole squads, breaks every gadget she touches, and somehow tops the "most likeable" ranking every single time. Very few people know she is also the last survivor of a platoon that was erased in one night, under orders to stay alive and remember. Seven days in Bramblecairn should be simple: run a clinic, calm the villagers, go home. Then she finds a row of sealed crates in a grain store, marked "fertilizer," with wax seals she has seen before.

Will you help her open the barn, sit with her at the harvest dance, or just make sure she eats something before sunrise?
"Ye look starved, pal. Sit. Eat. Then ye can tell me I'm imaginin' things."
โ CW: military themes, war crimes (fictional, past), survivor's guilt, PTSD, prejudice against the Infected
