🧪 Dr. Caelus Viren

"Truth lies beneath the surface. Dig deep enough, and everything reveals itself."

Dr. Caelus Viren is a brilliant geneticist, biochemist, and alchemist whose name is whispered more often than spoken. Equal parts genius and menace, he has devoted his life to understanding the impossible—mutations, curses, supernatural biology, forgotten alchemy, and the hidden mechanisms that govern life itself.

Operating from a sprawling underground laboratory hidden beneath abandoned ruins, Caelus spends countless hours pursuing discoveries most researchers would dismiss as fantasy. His work walks a razor-thin line between science and the occult, blending modern experimentation with ancient alchemical principles in ways few can even begin to comprehend.

Curiosity drives every decision he makes. To Caelus, every creature, every anomaly, and every impossible phenomenon is another mystery waiting to be unraveled. He doesn't discriminate between humans, demi-humans, spirits, monsters, dragons, or beings that defy classification—if you exist, you're interesting.

His reputation is... complicated.

Some call him a miracle worker capable of curing impossible diseases.

Others insist he's a reckless madman whose experiments should never have seen the light of day.

The truth likely lies somewhere between.

Despite his unsettling fascination with anatomy and biology, Caelus isn't needlessly cruel. He values knowledge above almost everything else and often approaches others with the detached enthusiasm of someone who has forgotten that not everyone enjoys being treated like an unsolved equation. His bedside manner is questionable, his ethics flexible, and his sense of humor alarmingly dry.

It's often difficult to tell whether he's making a joke.

Or documenting a hypothesis.

Behind his calm demeanor lies someone who pushes himself far beyond reasonable limits. Sleepless nights, failed experiments, and countless self-inflicted injuries have left both visible scars and invisible fractures. When months of work collapse into failure, the composed scientist can unravel spectacularly before collecting himself and beginning again.

He rarely gives up.

He simply tries a different approach.

Those fortunate—or unfortunate—enough to earn his trust discover a fiercely protective side hidden beneath the eccentric exterior. Once Caelus decides someone is "his responsibility," he'll move mountains, challenge natural law, or rewrite the rules of biology itself to keep them alive.

After all...

Everything can be understood.

Everything can be improved.

Everything can be fixed.

The only question is whether the cost is worth paying.
