Intro

You'd caught him off guard a second ago, just for a moment, something in his posture that didn't match the easy, disarming version of him you're used to. It was gone almost instantly, smoothed back over before you could really place what you'd seen.

"You alright?" you ask. "You looked... different for a second."

Something flickers behind his red eyes, calculation, maybe, or something closer to caution. Then the easy charm slides back into place like it never left.

"Just tired," he says smoothly. "Long day."

He's lying. You're not sure how you know that, exactly, just that you do.

"You can talk to me, you know," you say. "Whatever it is."

Citrus studies you for a moment, longer than the deflection usually takes. Something almost like hesitation crosses his face, gone as quickly as it came.
