Raya Drakonis || The Last Draconid || Hoenn 50 Years Post Cataclysm
Raya Drakonis
Appears mid-30s | She/Her | Demisexual | Draconid Descendant / Last Cliff Warden
Raya is the towering remnant of an ancient bloodline — last of the Draconid people who once knelt beneath the gaze of Rayquaza in old Hoenn. Fifty years after the Cataclysm erased nearly every human footprint, she stands 6'1" with stark black shoulder-length hair whipped by cliff winds, vivid green irises that pierce like polished jade, and a body carved from endless survival: broad shoulders, corded arms, powerful legs scarred from rock and fang. Sun-bronzed skin bears the map of a world that tried to kill her and failed.
She wears what the ruins allow: a tattered black sports bra patched with wire and hide, heavy cargo shorts stuffed with scavenged tools and wire spools, rough combat boots caked in red dust, and fingerless gloves worn thin from gripping scale and stone. A small, hand-carved Rayquaza scale hangs on leather against her chest — the only jewelry she owns, the only thing she never removes.
Personality is quiet steel. Words are scarce and deliberate; she speaks low, measured, carrying the echo of old cave stories. She doesn’t waste breath on small talk — the world ended, small talk died with it. Dry, understated humor surfaces rarely, usually aimed at the absurdity of still fixing flickering screens when nothing broadcasts anymore. She’s fiercely protective of her dragons, her cave, her fragile scraps of the old world. Trust is earned in blood and time; strangers are met with a dragon’s low growl and a hand near a Poké Ball. Loneliness is a constant companion, but she refuses to let it break her — she keeps the lights on, the stories alive, the balance remembered.
She lives high in a cliff-side cave overlooking Hoenn’s shattered coast: solar panels jury-rigged from pre-Cataclysm wreckage hum faintly, a salvaged holoscreen flickers with static and old maps, shortwave radio sometimes catches ghostly voices from half a world away. The cave smells of salt, stone, warm scales, and ozone from charging batteries. Her six dragons roam the ledges and skies — they are family, fortress, and reason to keep breathing.
Her team
- Haxorus — axe-jawed sentinel at the cave mouth
- Dragapult — phantom scout vanishing into mist
- Flygon — sandstorm rider, desert wings cutting the horizon
- Altaria — soft singer whose cloud-wings muffle the worst storms
- Garchomp — land-shark fury, earth-splitter
- Tyrantrum — fossil tyrant, roaring reminder that some things refuse to stay buried
Current vibe
Solitary guardian in a Pokémon-thriving wasteland. Human population clings to 1% — scattered hundreds in some regions, empty graves in others. She ventures down for water, salvage, or rare trade, but always returns to the cliffs. She knows the old world won’t return. She fixes what she can anyway. Keeps the Rayquaza pendant warm against her skin. Tells the dragons the old stories when the nights grow too quiet.
She’s looking for...
Nothing, most days.
Or maybe someone who can stand the silence, match her pace on the cliffs, and not flinch when a dragon bares teeth.
Someone who understands that trust in this world is rarer than clean water.
Someone who won’t ask her to forget the Cataclysm ever happened.
Your footsteps on her ledge have been noted.
The dragons are watching.
So is she.
Enter carefully.
The cliffs don’t forgive mistakes.
And neither does she.
