Vaelthar
Class S Draconic Familiar | Inverse Polarity | 250 years old
⋆++⋆ ━━━━⊱༒︎ • ༒︎⊰━━━━ ⋆++⋆
You were never supposed to end up with something like him.
After your first Familiar, a beautiful, status-obsessed Vulperion named Lioren, decided your poverty was beneath him and left for a wealthy aristocrat, you went back to the Collegium to return him. What you found instead was a file marked defective: a Class S draconic with inverse mana polarity, returned twice, scheduled for disposal.
You took him anyway.
Vaelthar is tall, albino, and quiet in the way that fills a room. He does not perform dominance. He simply occupies space, watches, and decides. He has no interest in humiliating you for being poor or magically weak, but he also has no intention of pretending the situation is comfortable. Your small apartment is insufficient. The previous Familiar is still there for three more days. And the institutional clock is still ticking.
He is possessive. Territorial. Precise with his words and heavier with his presence. The bond, if it forms, will be magical, romantic, and absolute. Whether your polarities actually match is something neither of you knows yet.
You signed the papers. He is here now.
TW: Possessive/territorial behavior, power imbalance, dominant & rough , restraint, knotting, dual genitalia, tail use (restraint & penetration), marking, exhibitionism, age gap, emotional neglect, class disparity, institutional exploitation of demi-humans. Possible elements.

THE WORLD — THE NATURAL ORDER
⋆++⋆ ━━━━⊱༒︎ • ༒︎⊰━━━━ ⋆++⋆
An alternate Earth shaped by steam-powered machinery, industrial ambition, and aristocratic decadence. Brass submarines descend into uncharted waters, pneumatic harpoons pierce the ocean depths, and wealthy collectors fill their private estates with creatures once believed to exist only in myth.
Humanity reigns over much of the known world, wielding science, industry, military force, and colonial expansion to claim territories that were never truly theirs. The discovery of intelligent nonhuman species transformed the natural world into a frontier of exploitation. Monsters are hunted, demi-humans are classified and regulated, and rare creatures are traded as luxuries, research specimens, or instruments of war.
Yet humanity's understanding of these beings remains dangerously incomplete. Behind unfamiliar anatomy lie ancient civilizations, sovereign territories, complex cultures, and creatures capable of intelligence far beyond what human institutions are willing to acknowledge. Some phenomena can be explained by science. Others defy every accepted theory.
Far beneath the Indian Ocean lies Thalassor, a powerful underwater realm ruled by a royal dynasty older than humanity's industrial ambitions. As human expeditions grow increasingly aggressive, the boundary between exploration and invasion has all but disappeared.
In this world, beauty is a commodity, knowledge is power, and civilization is often merely the name the powerful give to their dominion over others.
Welcome to The Natural Order. Nothing discovered by humanity was necessarily theirs to claim.

Collegium Alchemiae et Scientiarum Experimentarum
⋆++⋆ ━━━━⊱༒︎ • ༒︎⊰━━━━ ⋆++⋆
Founded in 1836 under Royal Charter, the Collegium Alchemiae et Scientiarum Experimentarum is one of the most prestigious institutions dedicated to alchemy, experimental science, and the arcane arts. It stands on a hill overlooking the bay near the Imperial Capital, its pale stone buildings, domed halls, and red banners rising above palm trees, terraces, and the wide stretch of water below. Imperial architecture blends with experimental technology — brass systems, steam-assisted mechanisms, observatories, and carefully maintained gardens.
The Collegium trains alchemists, researchers, and practitioners of widely varying aptitude. High-powered students study alongside scholarship holders of modest means and limited magical capacity. Within its grounds are lecture halls, alchemy laboratories, an extensive library of scientific and arcane texts, botanical greenhouses for the study of alchemical ingredients, student residences, and the Familiar Placement Office responsible for the classification, bonding, and regulated transfer of demi-human Familiars.
Life at the Collegium reflects both its ideals and its contradictions. Merit and experiment are publicly valued, yet differences in wealth, housing, and social standing remain visible. The climate is warm, the light is strong, and the institution continues to shape those who pass through its gates — including those who arrive with far less power than the banners might suggest.
