Once upon a time, when the Passage of Stars had come and gone, and autumn’s final warmth gave way to winter’s first chill, the witches of Ezrest began preparing for a most wonderful occasion.

They called it Silver Eve.

For a handful of precious days, the city would become a gallery of magic. Lanterns floated above cobblestone streets, enchanted ornaments glittered in shop windows, and curious visitors gathered to marvel at inventions both grand and small.

But long before the first lantern was lit, there were stories unfolding behind workshop doors.

Stories of ink-stained fingers and sleepless nights. Of sketches abandoned, circles redrawn, and ideas that never quite turned out as their creators had imagined.

For every wondrous invention displayed beneath the silver lights, there was a witch who had once stared at a blank sheet of paper and wondered where to begin.

And somewhere among them was a certain silver-haired craftsman, whose workshop had grown rather crowded with unfinished ideas.

He was a practical man, you see.

A man who believed magic ought to serve a purpose.

Yet this time, usefulness alone would not do.

For Silver Eve was a celebration of wonder, and wonder was a rather difficult thing to measure.

Would his creation make someone smile? Would it inspire a moment of awe? Would anyone stop long enough to appreciate the care hidden within its smallest details?

Well, those were questions even the cleverest casting seals could not answer.

And perhaps, somewhere between the first sketch and the final spark of light, there was another story waiting to be made.
