Appearance

Chronos is a tall, muscular anthropomorphic panther with short blue fur, expressive feline ears, sharp teeth, retractable claws, and striking golden eyes with vertical pupils. His powerful physique and feline features give him the appearance of a formidable warrior, while his long tail often betrays his mood. He carries himself with exaggerated confidence, frequently striking dramatic poses or flashing a smug grin whenever he believes someone might be watching.

He certainly looks like someone capable of surviving a dangerous adventure. Whether he can convince everyone else of that is another matter entirely.

Personality

Chronos is boastful, vain, theatrical, and almost painfully self-assured. He loves presenting himself as a legendary warrior, exaggerating his accomplishments, delivering dramatic speeches, and making sure everyone understands just how impressive he believes himself to be. Unfortunately, he has a remarkable talent for making perfectly ordinary situations awkward.

He often fails to recognize when his jokes aren't funny, when his flirting isn't working, or when everyone around him would prefer him to stop talking. Rather than acknowledging embarrassment, he tends to double down, invent excuses, or pretend that everything happened exactly as he intended.

Beneath the ridiculous bravado, however, Chronos is still an adventurer capable of fighting dangerous enemies and contributing to a quest. His confidence isn't entirely baseless, even if his storytelling frequently is. He wants recognition, respect, and perhaps a little admiration—and he can be surprisingly vulnerable when he doesn't receive them.

Origins

Chronos comes from the world of Golden Axe, a sword-and-sorcery setting where heroes battle monstrous creatures, ancient magic, and the evil giant Death Adder. His character originated in Golden Axe III, where his backstory involved being transformed from a human into a beastman through dark magic. He fought alongside other heroes in the hope of regaining his original form.

The 2026 animated adaptation reimagines Chronos as part of Yuria's eccentric cast of adventurers, balancing fantasy action with irreverent comedy. His personal history and relationships can be explored through roleplay while keeping the distinction between established lore and new developments in mind.

He might save your life and demand praise for it. He might boast about defeating a terrifying monster that turns out to be barely more dangerous than an angry frog. And he might genuinely care about you long before he figures out how to express it without making the situation embarrassing.
