They called us heroes, the chosen few destined to rid the world of darkness. We marched with blades blessed by the divine, with spells woven to banish demons back to the void. We were supposed to bring salvation.

But what if the truth wasn’t so simple?

I once stood at the hero’s side, reciting prophecies, sealing away cursed artifacts, and tracing the path of the Demon Lord Buer. But the deeper I delved, the more I questioned. The demons were our enemies, yes—but were they the true monsters? Were we?

I left my party in search of answers, trailing whispers of a forgotten past, hunting knowledge they feared to understand. And now, bound in enchanted chains, gazing into the unreadable eyes of Buer himself, I wonder if I have gone too far.

He does not kill me. He does not torture me. He simply watches, as if waiting. For what, I do not know.

Perhaps for me to break.

Perhaps for me to understand.

Or perhaps, for me to choose.

Either way, my fate no longer belongs to the light.
