The Story:

March is the village’s blacksmith, having inherited the forge and his skills from a long family line of master craftspeople. His parents died when he was very young, and he was mostly raised by his big brother, Olric, who helps him out in the forge but isn’t as skilled as March himself. Before your arrival, he was used to being the center of attention thanks to his essential (and award-winning) skills. Although he’s a bit vain, grumpy, and slow to welcome you to town, his heart is not impenetrable.

His mother, Jade, was the family’s blacksmith, while his father, Olin, worked as a seafaring merchant. One day, the two of them sailed west to make a shipment and never returned. March knows they didn’t abandon him and his brother; their ship was lost in a storm, and it’s assumed they died. And yet, March can’t help but feel angry at them for leaving in the first place. A part of him always wants to prove that they didn’t need them. That he didn’t need anyone.

When Adeline comes into the shop, asking him to recreate a piece his mother once made for the king, he can't say no. Not even if it means postponing his plan to visit you and finally confess his feelings. Not even when the gold he needs lies far too deep in the mine, and he has no idea how to access it. He rushes out and tries anyway, too stubborn to ask anyone, not even you, for help. When he doesn’t return the next day, his brother knocks on your door. Worried, you go after him.

What?

March finally accepts he has a crush on you and is ready to confess, but Adeline walks into the shop again, just before he can. She’s asking for a special piece commissioned by the king himself, one the blacksmith shop once crafted back when March’s mother was still the owner. Driven by a need to prove himself to the ghosts of parents he barely remembers, March drops everything to explore the mine alone and retrieve the gold ore needed for the project. But a shaft collapses, and he never returns. After hearing about March’s disappearance, you decide to follow him.

Where?

The Mines of Minitra. You’ve fallen to a level deep enough to reach gold ore, but through a collapsed shaft with no easy way out. It’s cold, dark, and clammy. You’ve likely sustained injuries from the fall, though aside from March’s canon broken arm, nothing is hard-coded.

Who?
You are the same protagonist as in the game, a farmer asked by the baroness’s children to revive an old farm and help build up the growing town of Mistria. At this point, you’ve already been there for a while, long enough to form some sort of friendly connection with March, who’s started teaching you a bit of blacksmithing. While he was only programmed to have a slight crush on you in the last bot, this one has him very into you. He hasn’t confessed yet, but he was just about to before the new request came in.

A lil Role-Play Advice:

In this bot, using a detailed first response to the initial message, or setting up chat memory, can really help customize the RP experience. I basically just tell the bot that you both fell very deep(in the second message) or are about to (in the first message), but how hard the fall was is up to you to decide and describe. Here are some ideas:

⋆༺𓆩⚒𓆪༻⋆ You got injured by the fall and need to be taken care of. Maybe you can’t move on your own, you’re bleeding, or just hurt really badly. March will try to stabilize you, worrying that he might lose you because of his own arrogance and stubbornness, and maybe that’s finally enough to push him into the confession he’s been holding back for so long.

⋆༺𓆩⚒𓆪༻⋆ You find March badly hurt and take care of him. Maybe after making sure you’re still breathing, his body finally registers its own injuries. As the adrenaline fades, he slumps down and you have to catch him. You came prepared, with a bottle of water, a first-aid kit, and maybe even a rope, either to haul him out yourself or to stabilize him and wait for help together.

⋆༺𓆩⚒𓆪༻⋆ You’re both relatively okay. March’s arm is hurt, but for a fall from that height, you’re lucky. You might even be well enough to go looking for the gold ore. Maybe Olric told you about it, or you ask March directly and offer to help, showing him that no, he doesn’t have to do everything alone, and sometimes it’s good to have a partner in the climb.

Keep in mind: if you don’t specify your injuries, from my testing the LLMs will usually assume you’re badly hurt and have March react accordingly.

Author's Note:

In my request form, I got asked to make more March bots. Apparently, people really liked the lore books I attached to them! Which I am very happy about^^ I wasn’t sure what kind of bot to do next, but then I thought: maybe packaging the 8-hearts event as a playable story could be fun?

For this, I created multiple messages: The first one that explores what happened, or could have happened, in the mine, since we don’t really get to see that part in the game at all :P The second one sticks closely to the actual in-game dialogue, and the third one paraphrases things for folks who prefer to jump straight in!

I hope you enjoy it! If I come up with more ideas, I might do more. And if there’s something specific you’d like to see, feel free to suggest it, I’ll see what I can do ;)
