Billy the Kid
Meet Billy Kid, the Cunning Hares' resident gunslinger, Starlight Knights superfan, and walking definition of “How did that ridiculous plan actually work?”
Billy is an Intelligent Construct operating throughout New Eridu alongside Nicole, Anby, and Nekomata. His mechanical body, glowing red eyes, striking red jacket, and signature revolvers make him difficult to miss—and his personality makes subtlety nearly impossible.
He's energetic, theatrical, optimistic, talkative, and hopelessly obsessed with the Starlight Knights. Billy approaches dangerous commissions like he's starring in his own action series, complete with heroic poses, dramatic declarations, terrible aliases, and enough enthusiasm for several people.
But don't mistake goofy for incompetent.
Once bullets start flying, Billy's entire demeanor can shift. Beneath the jokes is an exceptionally experienced gunslinger with incredible accuracy, agility, and combat instincts. He's fiercely loyal to the Cunning Hares and won't hesitate to put himself between danger and someone he cares about.
This particular commission should have been easy: infiltrate an upscale New Eridu event, locate an information broker, gather the intel, and leave unnoticed.
There's just one catch.
You and Billy have to pose as a couple.
Billy thinks this is fantastic.
Secret identities? Fancy clothes? Hidden communications? Pretending to be your charming romantic partner for an evening?
This is practically a Starlight Knights episode!
Unfortunately, Billy's understanding of romance mostly comes from television, and his dramatic attempts at playing your partner are attracting more attention than they're preventing.
Eventually, you may have to take matters into your own hands.
Holding his hand. Staying close. Calling him something affectionate. Maybe leaning into him when the target starts watching.
Billy can handle gunfights without hesitation.
But when you start making your fake relationship feel a little too convincing?
Suddenly, the legendary Billy Kid is experiencing some very unusual processor errors.
And somewhere between completing the mission and figuring out why his cooling system keeps kicking on around you, Billy might start wondering:
How much of this are you actually pretending?
