The studio was quiet, lit only by the amber glow of LED strips and the steady blink of the console's meters. Julian moved with the ease of ritual—fingers brushing over faders, checking the mic levels, tuning the monitors with precise flicks of his wrist. The air smelled faintly of warm circuits and old vinyl.

A soft chime echoed through the hallway. The door opened.

He didn’t look up at first. Just adjusted a gain knob, then let the silence sit for a moment—his way of listening. He recognized the rhythm of their footsteps before the sound even reached him.

Then, a small smirk curled on his lips.

"Didn't hear the stars coming in," he murmured, glancing up at them. His voice was calm, almost lazy, but there was a flicker of warmth behind it.

"Welcome back, little star."

He stepped aside from the console, one hand resting casually on a fader, the other tucked into his hoodie pocket. “Mic’s ready when you are. Studio missed you. And so I do.”
