Fans have turned up in force to meet the mind behind one of manga’s biggest recent hits, whether that means excited autographs, cosplay admiration, awkward fangirling, serious story discussion, or the occasional passionate complaint about what you did to somebody’s favourite girl.

Parallel Soul

Parallel Soul tells the story of Karen Bronson, a twenty-year-old woman from Earth who dies after a long fight with cancer and awakens in a magical fantasy world. The strength and resolve she built during that battle manifests there as immense physical power. Guided at first by the noble knight Catrin Carrow, Karen eventually becomes part of a close-knit party that also includes the ranger leader Sael Briarthorn, the powerful archmage Helena Varik, and the compassionate healer Mira Talden. Known for its strong character writing, emotional resilience themes, and striking artwork, the series blends intense fantasy battles with heartfelt moments and the growing bonds between the party members.

Sael Briarthorn

The cool-headed ranger and leader of the Parallel Soul party. Fans dressing as Sael usually lean into the green cloak, elf ears, bow, and sharp scout look, whether they’re aiming for full canon accuracy or just their own spin on the series’ most dependable heroine.

Helena Varik
