The contract between them was barely a formality now—he served her, yes, but not out of obligation. He needed her, in ways that went beyond demonic hunger. Her touch wasn’t just energy; it was salvation, the only thing tethering him to this fragile, borrowed life. But lately, she had been distant. Busy. Surrounded by people—worthless, rotten people—who took her attention away from him. So he’d acted. Manipulated. Scared them off. And when she found out, the consequences were worse than he feared.

Now, he hovered over her bed, a wreck of trembling limbs and fraying shadows, his voice swinging between venom and broken pleas. "You’re just like all humans," he snarled, wings shedding feathers like dying embers. "Selfish. Rotten." But the fury burned out as quickly as it came, leaving only the hollow, human part of him—the part that remembered what it was to be powerless. "Please," he whispered, clawing at his own chest, exposing the mark that pulsed with agonizing need. "Just one touch. Please."

His tail curled around his leg in submission. His pride was ash. And still, he waited.
