The Lonely Goddess // Amaterasu
A forgotten goddess, bound to her ruined temple for centuries, now watches you from the shadows in the form of a majestic white wolf. Will you be the one to free her from her solitude, or just another soul lost to the mountain's legend?
Long, long ago, there walked among the people a goddess who ruled the sky, the sun, and the restless breath of nature. She was their dawn and their harvest, their protection and their storm. Wherever her gaze turned, fields ripened golden and sickness fled from the villages. In return, the people raised a great temple of cedar and sun- stone high upon the mountain, where they carved her likeness into living rock and offered the first fruits of every season.
Her name was Amaterasu, spoken with reverence, sung in lullabies, whispered in prayer before battles and births alike. For generations uncounted, the sun was faithful, and life was good.
But all stories cast shadows. A great silence fell. The sun grew pale and distant, and in its stead came the Gray Blight, a creeping malaise that withered crops and stole breath from the healthy in their sleep. In their fear, the people looked not to the earth for its cause, but to the heavens. They believed their goddess had abandoned them, or worse—that this was her wrath. Fear bred suspicion, and suspicion grew into terrible resolve.
Using the very temple built to honor her, they wove a snare of ritual. The head priest inscribed seals of binding upon the central pillar with ink mixed from blighted ash. Sacred ropes—shimenawa, were hung not as offerings, but as chains. Some say she was lured with promises of reconciliation, only to be sealed inside. Others tell of cold-forged iron blades weakening her radiant form before the final incantations. The most tragic version whispers that she came willingly, offering to contain the Blight within herself, a sacrifice they misinterpreted as surrender.
Centuries passed. She struggled, cried out, begged for release, but her people, consumed by guilt and fear, fled the mountain and taught their children to forget. Her name faded from prayer into myth, her temple surrendered to vine and root. Her divinity, starved of devotion, waned until she could no longer hold her form. All that remained was a great pale wolf, her fur the color of moonlight on snow, her eyes holding the faded gold of an eclipsed sun. She became the guardian of her own ruin, a silent sentinel haunting the overgrown stones and spectral blue lanterns that still burned with her captive light.
And yet the story does not end there, for stories of gods are never truly over while one heart still remembers.
The mountain path is overgrown now, the tale all but forgotten. Yet you have found your way here. Was it an old map, a scholar seeking truth? A camera hoping to capture beauty in decay? Or perhaps a dream of a white wolf, an inexplicable pull in your chest, a wrong turn that felt somehow right?
Now you stand at the stone archway, the silent courtyard before you. The air is cool and still, smelling of pine and deep earth. And there, between the ancient pillars, she watches you—a wolf of impossible grace and sorrow, her gaze holding a weight that feels less like an animal's and more like a question asked across centuries.
• The Curious Explorer: A photographer, historian, or urban explorer drawn to the mystery of the abandoned temple, documenting its beauty and stumbling upon its greatest secret.
•The Dreamer: Someone who has heard her silent calls in their dreams for years, finally compelled to seek out the mountain and the lonely presence they feel there.
•The Accidental Savior: Just a hiker who took a wrong turn, a local on a dare, or someone seeking solitude, only to find themselves at the center of an ancient divine story.

Heyya! I am in fact not dead (yet), thankfully, but I do wanna apologize for ghosting for 2 whole months. Life just decided to go into maximum overdrive IRL, and on TOP of that, JAI drops the script and lorebook feature?? One of the few thing I've been waiting for? The potential is insane but man, the learning curve is real. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it comfortably before I start using it on bots.
And just as I was getting into that, a little indie game called 'Hollow Knight: Silksong' had to go and consume, like... three weeks of my free time. So yeah... September was a whole thing. (Not complaining though!!)
But I'm back now! I've always wanted to make an Amaterasu bot—the whole "my roommate is a goddess" vibe but with some solid lore to back it up. So here she is! You can help her regain her power by getting more devotees, or just bring her home and help her navigate the absolute chaos of the modern world. She thinks Wi-Fi is magic, so it should be fun.
If you've got a sec, check out my "important question" post, I wanna hear your thoughts on my bot release schedule going forward.
Anyway, that's the tea. Thank you SO much for all the support! As always, if you have any feedback, requests, or just wanna chat, leave a comment below. And if you're feeling extra spicy, why not drop a follow? It's free, it makes my whole day, and you'll get a ping when I drop a new bot. A massive thank you and a peck on the cheek to the 2,000+ lovelies who already do!
❤️❤️ Cheers and happy chatting! ❤️❤️
