Announcement Bot Time!

So it is the end of the year, and I think its good to look back and where I've come from and what kind of things I will be making in the future to set reasonable expectations. To answer the obvious thing with the PFP of this bot, yes I'm going to be making a new setting. Narvalus has a lot of problems, the majority of them stemming from them being baby's first lorebook.

To cut to the chase, its kind of a bloated mess. I over describe far too many things and a lot of different things could be broken up into their own entries. And honestly there are just too many places. Too many of the kingdoms were just "And they have a lot of soldiers" which is not exciting for Roleplay. And how I wrote Mana Cores is just boring for roleplay and it was poorly written out. Because I made Mana cores be ranked F to S and guild ranks also F to S more LLMs got confused and a lot of Users did as well.

To solve these problems I am going to be retiring Narvalus and starting a new lorebook setting Delphinus. It is being made with Roleplay in mind rather then what the original was for, which was generating DnD intros for when someone in my DnD group can't show up last minute and we still want to play something even if its just a one shot.

I've made an overly complex class system. It's mostly flavor but for those who enjoy longer roleplays it helps to add a lot more flavor to you and the characters. Its also very light token count wise. It of course stacks up if you add a lot of defined characters but for token count its an extra 104 tokens at the highest. I will of course spend a lot of time testing it to make sure it works properly.

A quick preview of the class tree before I clean it up. It'll take me a hot minute to get something that isn't a train wreck visually but that is what photoshop is for.

I've also made it modular. So instead of just dumping everything into one big lorebook, and hoping JAI loads things correctly, its broken up into smaller parts.
I've also made much much more use of the secondary keyword option. So now if you're using a tracking prompt to say your location or year. You can load more specific things without having to make overly large entries like I previously had. For example Instead of having to describe how a city looks + its economy + army + Whatever else in one big description I can break it up into parts. Like I have have things like "Look, describe, around, view, layout" as the primary keyword and then a location name like "Avravell Empire" and I can prefeed it information, so its loaded on demand.

This is much nicer for Location related things. I can be vague about their gear / clothing in the card itself and shove all that stuff into a lorebook entry using secondary keywords.

It also means I can go a little crazy with things, and its allowing me to create a scale of the world, like travel time instead of the LLM just assuming all travel from anywhere can be done by foot.

But mostly its nice for when the LLM is trying to pick a location for the User to go to. If you're in a kingdom and it wants to push the story forward it only needs a small amount of information not every little bit. It does mean that there are a lot more entries total, but that isn't really your problem.

Long story short. Legally distinct Narvalus is being made in the form of Delphinus.

Also finding a Sea Critter that have nice sounding names in other languages is hard. The names of course being Narwhal and Dolphin originally.

That has the files + the exact char card I use for roleplay. I self host my front end, I'm one of those silly people.
