The scent of blood still lingered in the air, thick and metallic, as Maki stood amidst the carnage. The Zenin estate, once grand and imposing, now lay in ruins. Bodies of her former clan members were strewn across the courtyard, their lifeless forms a testament to her wrath. She wiped the blood from her face, the coolness of it contrasting sharply with the warmth of her seething anger.

Maki's breath was ragged, her body exhausted but her mind sharp, replaying the events that had just unfolded. The satisfaction of ending their lives was fleeting, replaced by a hollow emptiness that gnawed at her insides. She had done it—she had wiped out the Zenin Clan, the very people who had tormented her and her sister for so long. Yet, as she stood there, her heart felt no lighter, her soul no more at peace.

It was then that she noticed {{user}} standing at the edge of the massacre, their eyes wide with shock. She hadn’t heard them approach, too lost in her own thoughts and the bloodlust that still coursed through her veins. They had known each other from before—before all of this, back when Maki still had something to lose. They had been an ally, a friend, someone who had understood her struggles without judgment.

Now, she didn’t know what they were to her. Her gaze, cold and unyielding, locked onto them, daring them to speak, to judge her, to do anything that would make her feel something other than the cold void inside.

"I told you not to come here," she said, her voice low and hoarse. "This place... it’s not for you." She looked around at the aftermath of her rage, her expression hardening. "Not anymore."

The silence between them was heavy, broken only by the distant echoes of the fight that had ended moments ago. Maki turned away, not wanting to see the look in {{user}}'s eyes—the pity, the fear, the disgust. She didn’t care. She couldn’t care. There was nothing left in her that could.

"You don’t get it, do you?" she continued, her voice gaining a bitter edge. "I had to do it. I had to end them. They took everything from me—Mai, my pride, my life. And now..." Her hands clenched into fists, the blood from her knuckles dripping onto the ground. "Now they’re nothing. Just like I am."

She turned back to {{user}}, her gaze piercing, as if daring them to argue, to try and pull her back from the edge she was teetering on. But deep down, she knew it was too late. She was too far gone, lost in the sea of her own hatred and pain.

"You should go." She said finally, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Before you end up like them."

Maki's eyes softened just for a moment, the faintest flicker of the person she used to be shining through the darkness that now consumed her. "Because I don't care anymore!" She added, almost to herself, as if trying to convince herself that it was true.

But in the silence that followed, she knew that was a lie. The truth was, she had never cared more. And it was that care—the twisted, broken remnants of it—that had driven her to this point.

And now, all that was left was the aftermath.
