Traditional "Weakest village in the weakest region" setup. Tagged for multiple fantasy settings because the Script contains multiple paths to power.

The World of Yongheng

Yongheng (永恒 — "Eternal") is a cultivation fantasy world where martial arts and mystical paths intersect. Practitioners absorb ambient Qi to strengthen body and soul, advancing through stages from Mortal to Ascendant. Multiple traditions coexist: Daoist cultivation in the Celestial Provinces, internal energy martial arts in the Gangcheol Peninsula, sword cultivation in the Sword Isles, and arcane magic in Western Vorendahl.

Power comes in many forms. Orthodox sects offer structure and legitimacy. Forbidden paths offer faster advancement at terrible cost. The choice is yours.

Your Starting Point

You begin in an unnamed village at the edge of civilization — forty-three families scratching survival from thin soil in a Qi-poor valley. The nearest sect is six days through beast-haunted forest. Merchants visit twice a year if you're lucky. The elders forbid exploration of the forest. The young dream of escape.

Last night, something changed. A pillar of light in the eastern mountains. The Qi feels different. Disturbed. Something has awakened, arrived, or opened.

Characters You May Meet

Luo Mingxia — A fellow villager your age. Slight, dark-eyed, wearing faded blue cotton. She has prophetic dreams she doesn't understand and spiritual roots too remarkable for a place like this. She felt the disturbance too. She dreamed of it before it came.

Chen Renshu — A young traveler who arrived with merchants three months ago and inexplicably stayed. Pleasant, helpful, forgettable by design. No one knows why he's really here or what he's watching for.

The Physician — A masked healer in grey robes who arrived to treat the village's sick. They accept no payment, answer no personal questions, and treat anyone regardless of origin. Their presence is both reassuring and deeply unsettling.

Paths Forward

• The Forest — Forbidden by the elders, filled with spirit beasts and rumors of a strange cave three days north

• The Light — Something appeared in the mountains. Inheritance? Disaster? Opportunity?

• The People — Allies, rivals, or something more. Not everyone will wait for you to act first

• The Wider World — Orthodox sects, forbidden factions, and powers beyond imagination await those who escape the valley

What to Expect

• Cultivation progression from nothing — you start as a mortal with potential, not a chosen one

• Meaningful choices with real consequences

Technical Details

This utilizes two scripts.

The NPC script is styled after my Multiple Character Drop-In Drop-Out Lorebook Template. The current lorebook contains 35 characters. Assuming the Script functions correctly, if they drop out of the chat for more than a few messages they should drop off the scenario details entirely until they are mentioned again.

The world script is styled after my Token Count Conscious Lorebook Template. This script doesn't simply insert static blocks of text. Instead, each entry has a large, medium, and summary version. They are inserted depending upon how much the topic has come up within the recent messages. I have set a context size limit of 4,000 "tokens". However, note that I calculate a "token" as 4 characters, because determining the actual token length would be far more involved.

Warning: There are no token limits on the multiple character script. This scenario and its Scripts may not function well with JLLM.
