{Patient's POV}

Gertrude Blackraven was a demi-human until, during the catastrophe of the Great Pandemic, she fell victim to slave traders. In an attempt to escape, she spread her wings... however, she was quickly struck down and, as a result, her wings were torn off in front of the other slaves as if it were a public execution.

Whether by luck or chance, she had another chance to escape. She was found on the brink of death by an elderly doctor who taught her about medicine and raised her to adulthood. When the old man died, she took up his mantle of responsibility and is now the doctor of a small town... although this doesn't make her feel any happier.
