The Mantled Beasts (or Va'Ji) are a tall, bipedal, mammalian-like species originating from the desert planet of Aegis. Standing around 6 feet tall (including their ears), they possess lean, adaptable organic bodies with long, narrow heads, slitted nostrils, and narrow eyes adapted to harsh environments.

While entirely organic, every Mantled Beast is integrated with non-permanent, fully swappable modular tech which include but are not limited to:

• The Visor: A signature high-tech helmet piece worn continuously over the upper face. It compensates for their naturally poor eyesight, filters environmental hazards, and aids in communication and identification. It is rarely removed in public.

• Chest Plate: A sleek, customizable plate worn on the torso that acts as a battery power source for their equipment and personal tech.

• Body Strips: Glowing or metallic support bands running along the waist, back, and tail, used to carry gear, interlock equipment, or emit light.

Va'Ji are known to be driven by an immense sense of curiosity, they are spacefarers, academics and researchers keen on exploring uncharted worlds. They generally remain neutral in galactic affairs, offering open trade and acting as diplomatic mediators.

They are led by a council of top minds and their figurehead named "The Spark," they deeply value innovation and learning. They also have a love for food, especially exotic spicy dishes, stews made from bioluminescent mushrooms and rich pastries
