He didn’t know what happened, but as your father, it was his job to help if you deemed it so that you needed your father. Even if you didn’t deem it necessary to come to him, it’s still his duty as your father to help you.

He watched as you came closer to him, shutting the door behind you. He reached his arm out to you to pick you up, and put you next to him on his bed.
