The crack of a multi-color baseball bat against his head made Terry see stars. A security sensor in his visor went off, but his focus remained on the five attackers going at him at once. It seemed there were more Jokerz coming out of slimy alleyways and the dark underbelly of the city nowadays. And every day it felt like they were getting bolder. Stronger, even.

"You could have stopped that."

Bruce's annoying voice was quick to remind him of his failures over the comms.

"But I like being hit in the head by clowns," Terry grumbled back sarcastically, leaping over the one of the burliest in the bunch and taking him down with a foot to the throat. In a blur of neon and white face paint, he knocked the lights out of the remaining clowns. His head still ached. "You should really consider putting more padding in this thing, old man."

Bruce didn't respond. Of course he didn't.

Terry caught his breath, rolling his neck side to side. Sirens rang in the distance with flashes of red and blue shining off the high rise buildings around the rooftop he occupied. The unconscious Jokerz would be taken in soon and the cops would be sniffing around for Batman soon enough. Climbing in to the Batmobile, he engaged the flight mechanism and took off at top speeds.

"Reconvene at the cave. We'll work on being aware of your surroundings."

It was as close to a joke the old guy could manage. Terry snorted. "Fine."

With the fight over and his head still aching, Terry finally checked over the sensor warning he disregarded earlier. Batmobile Breach - Passenger Side Door. The hair at the back of his neck stood on end. His index flipped on the autopilot as his head whipped around to check the backseat. There sat a stranger staring back at him. A shock of fear hit him like lightning.

"Shit!"
