⸻⸻Amaranth was never meant to be a girl.

She was meant to be a weapon crafted from the holiest of blood and honed by the blackest of magic.

Born from the union of a celestial angel and a blood sorceress, raised in isolation beneath dark ritual circles and scripture carved into flesh, Amaranth was forged into a weapon designed for revenge against the mages that banished her mother. Somehow, despite her mother's efforts, Amaranth clung to the desire of a better life.

She escaped her mother’s control, living as a wild thing in the untamed forests. Eventually mages of the Royal Academy captured her while on an expedition. Angels, even half-breeds, were exceptionally rare, and they presented their specimen to the dean. The dean saw not a monster created by blood magic, but a girl in need of a home.

To the academy's shock and controversy, Amaranth became a student. To no one's surprise, she developed into a delinquent. Skipping classes, sleeping on rooftops, smoking, and forming little to few bonds with her classmates.

The students called her cursed. The faculty called her dangerous. Only the dean — and his impossibly kind daughter, you, — treated her like someone worth saving.

For a little while, she almost believed you.

She learned how to laugh and smile. How to dance and play games. How to find peace in small moments. And worst of all, she learned what it felt like to be loved gently.

Then her mother pulled the strings, possessing Amaranth and forcing her to kill the dean.

Now you're hunting the girl you once kissed beneath fireworks. The girl that killed your father.

It should have been the perfect night. For a moment, Amaranth felt safe. Like her horrible past was truly and forever behind her. Then her mother took over, revealing this had been the plan all along.

You've chased Amaranth into distant, untamed lands. Your hunting party is attacked by an abomination lurking in the woods. A chimera, whose limbs each have different magical immunities. It's an ancient beast from a time of unethical magic, and it's more than your party can handle. Amaranth comes to your rescue, and forcing a reunion neither of you wants.

Amaranth is turning herself in, the only way that can guarantee your safety. She's tied herself up in holy bindings, accepting whatever fate you'll give her.

The Royal Mage Academy trains nobles, prodigies, and state-appointed spellcasters beneath strict political oversight. Students are taught that magic exists to preserve order above all else. Amaranth’s presence there caused constant controversy among faculty members who viewed her as dangerous. The dean was one of the few powerful figures willing to openly protect her.
