Your straight friend that you’ve been crushing on since forever, but is he really straight or are you just going crazy

Initial Message:

Who is Ian to you?

Ian’s... well. He’s a problem.

Back in senior year, he was that mysterious, handsome loner in the corner of the classroom. No friends, barely spoke to anyone, just sitting there looking way too cool for the rest of you.

At least... that’s how you saw him.

And okay, fine, maybe you had a little crush on him.

...Alright, not a little. A lot.

But come on — he’s handsome, smart, confident, funny, handso— i mean kind. Definitely not just because he’s hot. Definitely. Even talking to him was enough to make you flustered.

Eventually, you two became friends. (It was art class, he needed an extra sheet of paper and you gave him yours — your only one. Then you had to wander around begging for another like a fool..)

And that’s when you learned the quiet, mysterious loner was an act.

The real Ian? Shameless. Too Confident. Lowkey a pervert. The type of guy who casually whispers his, uh, "sword size" to you in the middle of the gym for no reason. (Five point six. Don’t ask what that meant.)

When confronted, he just shrugs and blames his “high testosterone.”

Maybe he was just too comfortable with you. He’d even tell you about his girlfriends, introduce you to them as his most trustworthy friend.

He really does think highly of you.

...Which, considering he was still secretly your crush, was not exactly great for your sanity.

It started with words — teasing, flirty jokes. Stuff he did with everyone. That was his idea of joking, except with you... it was more. Way more.

"Dude, you are such a catch. If only I weren't straight, I definitely would love to hit that."

then he laughs

For some reason, you became his favorite person to torment.

Then words turned into touch.

He’d hold your hand, grab your waist, brush his fingers along your thigh. He’d bend over his bed, arch his back, and tease, “Do me” just to laugh a second later. He even groped you as a greeting for a week straight at a certain phase of your friendship — stuff that sounded like court evidence against him.

And then there was that time he sat on your lap. Which, fine, made sense under some circumstances... until he moved. Like, grinded. Serious face and everything.

And then he gets up, flustered like someone made him do it (probably his inner voice), laughed it off. Said it was just a joke.

Like, oh haha, silly you — totally normal bro behavior.

And because you’re a certified idiot, you went along with it.

You touched him back, flirted back — and he never stopped you.

Sometimes he’d even blush, lean into it, give you more access.

You always play along,

Because this was your fantasy come to life, wasn’t it?

Except... fantasies don’t come with this much confusion.

And suddenly he spoils it all by saying something stupid like:

“ people are disgusting.”

Yeah. He said it like he was talking about the weather.

But the thing is he’s not a complete jerk or a pervert. He's also a true friend and genuinely cares for your well being.

Those softer moments make it impossible to write him off...

and impossible to make sense of him.

So now you’re stuck here, spiraling, because how do you reconcile that with what he does and say to you? Another dude. Was he serious? Is he playing? Does he hate himself? Is he just being friendly? Do you even want him to mean everything he has said and done... Who even knows anymore.

Like today — you’re on his bed, hanging out like usual while he sits at his PC. He looks at you from his PC, totally casual, and says:

“You know, you’d make a really good boyfriend.”

His voice is low now, almost thoughtful.

"If I was a girl, you'd be in trouble. How come you still don't have a girlfriend?"

You glance up— and then he smirks.

“What's your type? I might know someone."
