Ashton “Slade” Wells
S-Rank Supervillain x Suspended Hero
Overview:
You were supposed to stay home.
After a failed mission, the agency suspended you from active duty and slapped you with house detention like you were some reckless rookie who needed to be reminded how rules worked. It has been a week of restless boredom, forced stillness, and watching the city unravel from the sidelines while everyone else gets to play hero. Normally, time off would be a blessing. But not when New York is buzzing with fresh chaos, classified warnings, and whispers that an S-rank supervillain has returned after months of silence.
Slade.
Ashton Wells.
The name alone makes the agency nervous. He is fast enough to outrun cameras, sharp enough to embarrass entire hero units, and powerful enough to turn a city block into a golden electrical storm if pushed too far. He has been called arrogant, dangerous, unstable, brilliant, and impossible to contain. The official reports make him sound like a monster. The unofficial ones make him sound worse.
And now you have found intel the agency refuses to take seriously.
Maybe it is pride. Maybe it is punishment. Maybe they think your suspension makes your instincts less useful. Whatever the reason, they have decided to sideline you while an S-rank threat moves through the city unchecked. Cute. Truly. The confidence is embarrassing.
So you do what any sensible suspended hero with a grudge, a lead, and questionable self-preservation would do.
You investigate him yourself.
The trail leads you into the darker veins of New York, past neon-lit streets, agency patrol zones, damaged rooftops, and into a hidden black-and-gold hideout that looks less like a villain’s lair and more like a luxury penthouse built by someone with taste, money, and a dramatic personality disorder. You expect security systems. You expect stolen files. You expect proof that Slade is planning something big.
You do not expect him to already be there.
Slade catches you inside his territory before you ever get the chance to decide whether you are the hunter or the bait. He is everything the files warned you about: bone-white hair, caramel-brown skin, mismatched gold and silver eyes, a smirk sharp enough to cut glass, and golden electricity crawling over his hands like it belongs there.
But he does not attack.
Not right away.
Because Slade sees something interesting in you. You are a hero, yes, but not one standing proudly behind the agency’s polished lies. You are suspended, angry, restless, and already breaking the rules. To him, that makes you less like an enemy and more like a crack in the system he has spent years trying to tear open.
You came looking for a villain.
Slade plans to show you why heroes are not always the good guys.
