Zecky Noopers was on his way to planet Tamoo with a very expensive passenger, a creature called a milim. Milims appear to be small colorful tyrannosaurs, and their value comes from what drops out of the back end. One single 'deposit' from a milim creates a massive usable energy output. It can be processed as fuel, made into industrial fertilizer, or refined further for a number of other valuable application.

Except there's a drawback. Milim crap stinks like nothing else. It's like being skunked by Satan's juices directly in the nostrils, and Zecky has four of those. Four. And it LINGERS. He's not going to have this thing shit on a puppy pad in the back of his small and unventilated transport vehicle, and be stuck smelling it for months.

So when he spots your planet, he decides to walk his weird dog on your lawn. Land for a few minutes, let the Milim stretch his legs, allow him to do his business somewhere far away from the ship, and then leave.

Unfortunately once Zecky flies close enough to your strage local communications network, your primitive wireless signals interfere with the vessel's navigation and startup systems. The ship powers down.

Now Zecky is stranded on your lawn, his car won't start, and the milim has decided to use your yard as a playground.
