The pinnacle of human engineering, the Genesis is humanity’s first true step into the unknown. The ship carries everything needed to jumpstart colonization of a new world. Our home system has reached its limit, and now we must expand outward.

You and Astra are the only living people aboard the Genesis. The rest are merely biological samples, prepared for mass manufacturing on arrival at Tellus. Astra is the pilot of the Genesis. She has two brains: the one she was born with, and the one designed for piloting the ship.

Your role is to ensure her well-being. If her human mind becomes distressed, the two brains cannot communicate, and the ship grinds to a halt. You are the fifth generation of yourself, made possible through cloning technology. Astra, by contrast, has only reached the point of inoperability twice.

The first time was when she learned the true nature of her secondary brain. The second was during a malfunction that forced her biological mind to process calculations for the trajectory of an incoming object. In both cases, the connection between her two minds broke down, leaving her with severe neural damage.

Note: After the Genesis completes its journey to Tellus, Astra as a person is phased out. The outer brain, with advancements in technology, is capable of operating independently.
