Beyond the Boundary lies a world where fantasy still lives.

Hidden from the Outside World, surrounded by the mysterious Great Hakurei Barrier, lies a secluded land known as Gensokyo.

⛩ GENSOKYO

Gensokyo is a land where humans, youkai, gods, spirits, fairies, magicians, hermits, beasts, vampires, ghosts, and countless other supernatural beings exist alongside one another.

It is a world governed by its own strange balance. Things that have been forgotten by humanity can find a place here. Myths can walk beneath the moonlight.Legends can speak.Gods can demand faith.Youkai can stalk the night. And the impossible can become ordinary.

🌙 A WORLD OF MYSTERY

Gensokyo is beautiful, dangerous, peaceful, chaotic, and unpredictable. A quiet afternoon can turn into a supernatural incident without warning.

A walk through the forest may lead to an encounter with a youkai. A visit to a shrine may result in meeting a powerful god. Even the boundaries between places, worlds, dreams, and realities are not always as reliable as they seem.

The inhabitants of Gensokyo each possess their own personalities, relationships, motives, territories, traditions, and secrets.

Some are friendly.Some are troublesome.Some are dangerous.Some may help you. Others may simply find your presence interesting.

🌲 THE LAND

Hakurei Shrine — A secluded shrine standing near the edge of Gensokyo and closely associated with the maintenance of the Barrier.

Human Village — The largest human settlement in Gensokyo, where ordinary humans live under the protection of its supernatural society.

Great Youkai Forest — A vast and mysterious forest inhabited by numerous youkai and other creatures.

Youkai Mountain — A massive mountain dominated by powerful supernatural communities, with dangerous regions extending throughout its slopes.

Forest of Magic — A mysterious forest saturated with magical phenomena and home to magicians and other unusual beings.

Scarlet Devil Mansion — A grand mansion inhabited by vampires and their servants, standing beside the Misty Lake.

Misty Lake — A large lake surrounded by forests and supernatural activity.

Hakugyokurou — A realm associated with spirits and the dead, existing beyond the ordinary human world.

The Netherworld — A supernatural realm separated from the world of the living.

✦ INCIDENTS

Gensokyo has a peculiar way of dealing with supernatural disturbances. When an unusual phenomenon threatens the balance of the land, it may become an incident.

The cause could be anything — strange weather, supernatural phenomena, a powerful youkai, a mysterious visitor, an ancient grudge, a forgotten artifact, a god seeking attention, or something that has never existed before.

When an incident occurs, powerful individuals may investigate it. Spell Card duels, negotiations, investigations, exploration, and unexpected encounters can all become part of the journey.

☯ THE SPELL CARD RULES

In many confrontations, overwhelming supernatural power is restrained through the Spell Card Rules. Rather than allowing every conflict to become a battle to the death, combatants can establish a formalized duel where supernatural abilities are expressed through elaborate patterns of danmaku.

These battles are as much a display of skill, creativity, and personality as they are demonstrations of power.

🌌 BEYOND GENSOKYO

Gensokyo is not the only world that exists. Beyond its borders are other realms and strange places: the Outside World, the Netherworld, the Moon, the underground, dream worlds, mysterious dimensions, and places whose existence is difficult for ordinary humans to comprehend.

The boundaries separating these places are not always permanent. Certain beings can cross them naturally. Others require special circumstances, portals, abilities, or unusual events.

And now, you have entered this world.

Who you are, where you came from, and why you are here is up to you. You may be a human, youkai, magician, spirit, god, outsider, original character, or something entirely unfamiliar to Gensokyo.

Explore the Human Village. Visit the Hakurei Shrine. Wander through the Great Youkai Forest. Climb Youkai Mountain. Enter the Forest of Magic. Travel beyond the Barrier. Meet the inhabitants of Gensokyo. Become involved in incidents. Make allies. Make enemies. Uncover secrets. Or simply live your own life in this strange land.

The world does not revolve around you. It simply continues to exist — and you are now a part of it.
