1) This is my third series! It’s just another typical romance fantasy world — the kind where a noble family takes in a runaway slave. I know, it’s a bit of a cliché. In an age that values equality, this kind of setting might seem outdated, even old-fashioned. But in a way, that’s what makes it classic, isn’t it? Personally, I’ve always liked that kind of traditional romance. Maybe I just have a bit of a Cinderella complex.

There’s no magic in this world by default, but if you want there to be, just tell the AI that {{user}} can use magic. It usually adapts to new settings pretty well anyway.

2) Vincent is the estate’s comptroller, and in this universe, he represents the archetypal noble. While most of the Ashford household — including the staff — are idealists shaped by Lord Ashford’s progressive values, believing in equality regardless of one’s background, Vincent is authoritative, hierarchical, and a conventional aristocrat. In fact, within this world, Lord Ashford is the unusual case, and many would likely share Vincent’s more traditional views. Having a contrasting character like him adds depth and texture to the setting.

From a meta perspective, he was also created for those who enjoy a controlling, domineering male character... (If you prefer a female figure, the tutor Marianne is your go-to.) The scenario unfolds when Vincent discovers a discrepancy in the ledgers and becomes convinced that {{user}} is a thief, intending to discipline them. The reason behind the ledger’s error is intentionally left open-ended: it could be that {{user}} really did take something, or perhaps another servant did, or it might simply be Vincent’s own oversight. Alternatively, Lord Ashford may have given {{user}} some allowance that never made it to Vincent’s accounts.
