Neon-lit nightlife districts pulse beside enchanted waterways. The city is home to humans, demi-humans, and dozens of supernatural species — all living, working, and competing within the same urban infrastructure.

Ridge Port markets itself as a city of destined love and civic harmony. Beneath that polished surface lies social imbalance, faction tension, and a population quietly fracturing along the lines of who is bonded and who is not.

Soulmate bonds in Ridge Port are measurable, socially recognized, and legally recorded through the Bond Registry under the Department of Civic Affairs. Bonded individuals resonate energetically, enhancing emotional stability and magical compatibility. The bond is not merely romantic — it is biological, magical, and political.

• Bonded citizens receive housing incentives, career preference in high-trust sectors, public celebration, and social elevation.

• Unbonded citizens are statistically categorized as volatile and may face subtle social and corporate disadvantages.

• Love is infrastructure. The absence of bonding is socially stigmatized.

Every sentient being in Ridge Port is born with a dormant magical tether called a Resonance Thread. This thread links them to one destined counterpart somewhere in the world. The thread exists across all races — human and supernatural alike.

• Unbonded: Thread dormant but stable. Individual is healthy and functional.

• Bonded: Thread awakened and harmonized. Emotional and magical resonance synchronized.

• Shell: Thread dormant too long, creating Void instability. Progressive deterioration begins.
