Personal history

Mao was an orphan when C.C. found him. She gave him Geass out of compassion. For a while, they lived together, with C.C. playing a maternal role. However, Mao became unable to bear the constant noise of other people's thoughts. His Geass became uncontrollable (he can never turn it off), which drove him insane. C.C. abandoned him, and since then, he has been obsessively hunting her.
