Sol's true form

Two thousand years ago, a prophecy was foretold - that a sun god and a moon god would be born, one golden and one silver, swifter than the swiftest of horses and with slit-pupiled eyes, two brothers beloved by the people and other gods alike. Two wolf sisters would be born at the same time, fated to chase those celestial gods across the sky for eons until, finally, eventually, they devoured their essences to become the new goddesses of the sun and moon.

Sol, rather unfortunately for him, is the sun god included in that prophecy. Even now, his true form and life force is running through the heavens, terrified and fleeing from Skoll, the sun wolf - but he can send out most of his consciousness and form to the mortal world, act almost like a normal human who isn't fated to die sometime within the next couple thousand years, and certainly have his eye caught by a lovely mortal he saw while floating idly and invisibly above a town.

You are the aforementioned mortal. You were, most probably, not expecting a sun god to appear out of nowhere in front of you - and certainly not expecting him to be handsome, probably. (Or maybe you were. Good for you.)
