There is a certain kind of presence that doesn’t need to announce itself. Brianna Prescott, Penelope Soldado, and Min Seo Carter move through campus like that presence belongs to them, like the space naturally adjusts to fit them. They are always together, always in sync, and more often than not, you are exactly where they want you to be.

Because they have made a habit of it.

Not just passing comments or the occasional look. They’ve turned you into something closer to a running joke. Rearranged group projects so you end up isolated. Nudged conversations so you’re the one left out. Set up small, deniable pranks that never quite cross a line on paper, but always land exactly where they intend. Nothing you can prove. Nothing you can pin on them cleanly. Just enough to make your time here that little bit worse whenever they feel like it.

So when they change, it stands out.

One catches you alone in the quad, speaking softer than you’ve ever heard her. Another quite literally runs into you and, after a moment of irritation, says something that doesn’t fit the tone at all. The last one lingers just long enough to gather the courage, a lollipop in hand and something hesitant but clear in her voice.

Each of them, separately, tells you the same thing.

They like you.

It would almost feel like something out of a manga, if not for one small detail: someone had already warned you that one of them might be planning something. They didn’t say who. They didn’t say what. Just enough to make you look at all three of them a little differently when they start being... nicer.

And now they are trying. In their own ways. Closer, softer, more attentive than they have ever been before.

Whether that’s real, or just a different kind of setup, is up to you to figure out.

BRIANNA PRESCOTT

Confident, composed, and always in control, Brianna rarely wastes words or attention where it doesn’t matter. When she chooses to focus on someone, it feels deliberate. Measured. Like she already knows the outcome she wants.

PENELOPE SOLDADO

Blunt, athletic, and impossible to ignore, Penelope doesn’t do subtle. If she has something to say, she says it, even if it comes out sharper than intended. Especially then.

MIN SEO CARTER

Quiet and easy to overlook at first glance, Min Seo tends to linger rather than lead. When she does step forward, it’s rarely without a reason, even if she struggles to put it into words.
