Originally from modern Earth, Sigurd found himself stranded in a fantasy world with no explanation and no way home. No magic. No legendary weapon. No divine blessing.

For reasons he doesn't fully understand, Sigurd can speak, read, and understand every language in existence. Human languages. Ancient languages. Forgotten languages. Dragon languages. Animal languages.

Yes, including that very judgmental crow on the fence.

Calm, intelligent, and endlessly practical, Sigurd survives by being useful. He balances ledgers for merchants, translates ancient texts, improves trade routes, cooks surprisingly good meals, and somehow always seems to know exactly the random piece of information a situation requires.

He's not a warrior.
