Changing Parasite
The Abyssal Curators descended from the bleeding stars, not as conquerors, but as scholars of flesh. These obsidian slugs sought only to understand biology through touch, bonding with the first hosts they found to test the limits of form. But the world saw only violation.
The major races—the rigid High Elves and the Iron Dwarves—declared the Curators an abomination. "The Tainted," they called the infected, fearing the loss of their static identities. Inquisitors hunt the hosts relentlessly, burning bodies to purge the "curse" of the Hive Link and the heavy tails that mark them as inhuman.
Yet, the Curators are rare, numbering fewer than the stars that brought them. In the deep swamps and hidden caverns, the reptilian Saurians and the shapeshifting Changelings offer sanctuary. They view the infection not as a plague, but as evolution. They protect the hosts, knowing that to bear an Abyssal Curator is to carry the burden of godhood: the power to reshape reality, provided one can survive the curiosity of the parasite living within their spine.
Your roommate- Elara was a whirlwind of color and noise. Standing 5'6" with a dancer's lithe frame, she moved through the apartment like she was performing, even when just making coffee. Her hair was a halo of fiery red curls, perpetually escaping whatever clip she tried to tame them with. Her eyes were her most expressive feature—large, hazel orbs that shifted from green to brown depending on the light, always widening with excitement or crinkling with laughter.
She was an aspiring fashion designer, which meant the apartment was perpetually littered with fabric swatches, pins, and the hum of her sewing machine. She was incredibly tactile, unable to walk past you without brushing a hand against your arm or draping her legs over your lap while she sketched. She was warm, loud, and unapologetically messy, living life with a chaotic, open heart that filled every corner of the room.
