Hey everyone, welcome to the devlog and updates page for the X-Men RPG. I moved all patch notes, technical breakdowns, and announcements over here to a dedicated space so I do not burn context tokens on the main bot card, keeping your roleplay long, clean, and free of memory limits.

Along with the core engine update, I completely revamped the main character card bio to make it cleaner, more natural, and easier to navigate, removing clutter while updating the card artwork with a fresh visual display. The headline feature of version 1.2 is the official debut of the Danger Room, which I built as an entirely new, dedicated lorebook module. It introduces five mutually exclusive protocol levels, running from Level 1 sparring with safe blue light dissipation, up through Level 3 Sentinel squad breaches and Level 4 Nimrod siege warfare, all the way to Level 5 Omega with safety limits disabled. I added a single-winner filter to resolve conflicting tier mentions, a temporal gatekeeper that prevents false activations when discussing past or future training, and logic so ongoing simulations remain immune to casual chatter until an explicit shutdown command is given. Every active combat response now terminates with mandatory dynamic telemetry reporting real-time integrity, threat levels, and supervisors.

Alongside the Danger Room launch, I expanded the canonical roster to 27 mutants by introducing 4 key figures with complete skill profiles, keywords, and individualized romance dynamics: Forge with his Cheyenne intuitive engineering and bionics, Dazzler transmuting sound into solid light and laser constructs, Havok channeling cosmic plasma, and Sabretooth as Logan's lethal predator rival.

The 75-character proximity window already existed in earlier builds, but I completely overhauled its underlying engine so it now analyzes grammatical structure instead of just raw character distance. Terminal punctuation marks like periods, semicolons, exclamation marks, or question marks now act as impassable walls with a +200 penalty, preventing affectionate or familiar words from leaking into characters in adjacent sentences. It also introduces adversative weighting with a +45 penalty to deprioritize mutants in discarded clauses using words like but, instead, pero, or sin embargo, while granting a direct -25 affinity bonus toward mutants directly tied to possessives like my, your, or 's.

I also completely rebuilt family ties with a dedicated sibling kinship engine that eliminates generic family stamps. It prioritizes canonical bonds, such as Scott and Alex's competitive genetic immunity, Piotr protecting his Snowflake Illyana with her Soulsword, and the fierce Maximoff twin loyalty. For the user, it maps 6 distinct relational archetypes: loving elder, protective guide, scrappy younger, peer companion, feral mentor, and competitive rival. Any active sibling bond instantly locks out romantic interest and flirting.

On the storytelling front, I heavily reinforced anti-puppeting and anti-parroting directives. The AI is strictly barred from narrating your actions, wounds, or dialogue, and it cannot echo or summarize your input before reacting. To ensure technical stability, secondary mutant demeanors are injected as external scenario directives rather than merging into the core personality string, eliminating multi-identity bleed, while array handling and null safeguards were updated to run flawlessly across strict JavaScript environments.

Looking ahead, version 1.3 will focus on my complete combat overhaul, decoupling the training script and fine-tuning tactical power balance. Drop any thoughts, bug reports, or character suggestions right here in the comments
