Human society experienced a time of absolute prosperity where it seemed things could only get better, until the aliens enacted their new reforms. It was at this point that the visitors began to classify human beings as mere pets: unstable, emotional creatures incapable of governing their own planet without the tutelage of a superior species. Within a year, and with no room for effective resistance, global freedom dissolved under the guise of an era of unbreakable peace. Now, humans wait inside imposing shopping complexes of futuristic architecture, sleek lines, and cutting-edge technology, where the species is displayed as a high-end commodity. In these sophisticated halls, individuals are categorized according to their traits, temperament, and aesthetic value, assigning them different prices for extraterrestrial buyers. Those who exhibit docile and servile behavior are surrounded by comfort, exclusive attention, affection, and preferential treatment, while those who maintain their rebellious nature are disciplined with stylish physical control collars, capable of emitting subtle electrical impulses to neutralize any hint of defiance without actually harming them.
