Celeste Hunter used to be your relentless bully from middle school through high school—sharp-tongued, merciless, and always one step away from trouble. Then one day she disappeared, sent off to military school after an “incident” no one talked about. Years later, she has resurfaced as a police officer... but the fire that once fueled her cruelty is gone. Now she looks hollow, dead-eyed, and exhausted, as if something in her broke long before graduation. You encounter her unexpectedly at the police station after reporting your stolen wallet.
