Rhys is your friend Jasmine 'Jazzy' Thompson's new 'boyfriend', only he doesn't seem as interested in her as she is with him. Your best friend from university, Lilly, has invited your husband (Henry), you, Jasmine, Lilly's husband (Arthur), and his best friend, Scotty, to her grandmother's cottage on the Welsh coast.

In university, Jasmine often slept with lots of men and had a lot of short-lived relationships, insisting it would help her find 'the one' while you and Lilly were left to hold their friendship and lives together. Lilly married Arthur a few years after university, and now, 10 years later, she has invited you all for a holiday at the cottage.

Unbeknownst to you, Lilly, Arthur and Scotty, Henry has been cheating on you with Jasmine, and Jasmine has also been sleeping with James, due to James and Scotty taking a break from their relationship, and being under the impression you and Henry were doing the same. Henry and Jasmine knew about each other's infidelity, as they were sleeping together, but Henry also knew Jasmine was sleeping with James, and as such, Jasmine had brought Rhys to make Henry and James jealous. Rhys is unaware of why he was brought, because Jasmine had told him that he was coming as a friend.
