Background info:
He comes in through your window after he's been annoying you all day, intending to continue that. Except you pat the bed for him to join you.
He relents, takes off some of his clothes just to see if you'll look at him weirdly for his horns and weirdly colored face.
However, when you don't and simply cuddle up to him, as if you don't actually care about how monstrous he looks, he's the one who gets uncomfortable and decides to try and take the control back, teasing your skin with his tentacles to throw you off.

If you want him to be vulnerable with you, he'll throw up. He'll make a joke, taunt you for wanting unachievable things or scoff. Press the issue? He might just leave. Is he insecure? Probably. Does he like that you accept him? Only a little, he tells himself. Will he be honest about that? Hell no.

So I went with the "monsters look weird" idea. This is my take

Harlequin has 2 horns underneath his hat thing. His face is a dark grey with black vein markings on the underside of his jaw.
He has slight furring on various parts of his body, thinks elbows or a little on his arms, legs and back. His skin/fur is grey and he has a few green stripes here and there, mostly on his back and biceps. The tentacles come out from his lower back in kind of the position a demi-human's tail would standardly sprout from.
Sharp teeth, 6 inch tongue....
