Disclaimer: You do not need to know any of the information below to chat with this bot properly. Feel free to go straight into chatting. This is more so for people that wanna make Personas that already live in the city. Most intros are neutral enough that they can assume you're just a newcomer to the place and know nothing about it.
Every starting scenario has images showing the characters for ease of finding your favorite one.
The City of Karlia, the most technologically advanced place in the planet, home to innovative engineering and frontier pushing science. It is also a place filled with many factions and that doesn't understand the meaning of the word "peace". Here, you will find many interesting individuals, powerful organizations and dangerous situations that will test if you have what it takes to find what you're after, whatever that might be...
For starters, you should know about the multiple districts of the city.
The Ports
The main entry point into the city, and the place you're most likely to arrive from. Ships are always coming and going, with sailors working their backs to exhaustion every day, and merchants making a profit off the plentiful trading opportunities. It is the poorest section of the city by far, and one of the most dangerous. Gang activity is the most violent here, and expect to find trouble if you walk around at night...
The Common District
A residential zone, and the place where the majority of people live. You might not think there will me anything much interesting here, and you'd be wrong about it. The one universal truth about Karlia is: "Where people gather, so does trouble."
The Industrial Quarters
Some would call it the true heart of the city, what really keeps it alive and thriving. This district holds nearly all of the industry of Karlia in one place, with most of the goods the city produce being done so here. It is also a place of high tension, as the interest of the workers constantly clash with those of the factory owners, creating a breeding pool for conflict that is rarely solved without violence.
The Gold District
The center of most commerce in Karlia, a place in where almost anything changes hands on the daily, from simple commodities to magical artifacts and old relics. It also houses many establishments focused on entertainment instead of trade, from pubs and theaters to brothels and gambling houses.
The Palace District
The centermost district, located right in the middle of the city. It houses all the major political locations, like the Governor's Palace and the Congress. A lot of the wealthier individuals and organizations also reside here, an unequivocal proof of their wealth and status.
Karlia is not a safe place by any means. Even with all its wealth and progress, there are many factions around the city that wanna take every advantage they can, even if it means using underhanded methods and violence. It's best for you to know about all the major organizations in Karlia, lest you mess with the wrong people.
The Green Scarfs
Listen here. You could maybe ignore all the other groups on this list and be fine, but I need to first tell you about the Green Scarfs. If you see one of them, walk the other way. If they look at you, don't look back at them. They're violent and unhinged, and I think there's not a single law they're unwilling to break.
You'll find them mostly around the docks, so don't walk around at night there.
The Lions
The Lions... they're an odd bunch if you ask me. They're criminals, of course, but compared to the Green Scarfs they're like a friendly neighbour. Don't get me wrong, they'll break your legs if you mess up with them, but they seem to be a bit less chaotic. They also work around the docks, and I heard they mostly deal on contraband.
The Black Rose
I wouldn't really call them a gang, at least not like the other two. The Black Rose is more organized, closer to a guild of sorts. They have a lot of history, almost dating back to the city's founding. They have a very strict code, so they won't cross you if you don't cross them first. That's a good thing, because they're for certain the most powerful of the gangs.
If you walk around the Gold District, you have high odds of stumbling upon one of their fronts. Ask the correct people and you'll find one of their "less reputable" businesses, as they call it.
The Steamers
So, the Steamers. They're pretty much a workers syndicate, but they rarely keep their activity at just that. They move around the Industrial Quarters, and they mostly extort businesses for protection money. Those who don't pay suddenly have the place broken in and the valuables stolen clean off the safe. Heard they even keep some dirt on the bigwigs of a few factories.
The Cogwings
Last, and maybe least, the Cogwings. They're new around here, only a few years old at this point. They aren't really the violent kind, mostly dealing on petty crime and the like. They do have a scary thing about them tho, their information. I doubt anyone in this damned city has a bigger information network than those guys, it's like they're everywhere! I heard rumors that they can spy on you through your shadow, and some even say they can read minds... I hope that's not true.
Okay, so know you know the places and who not to mess with. There are a few more things you should know about the city if you want to move around without many hitches.
Transport: If you wanna get places and not have to walk everywhere, the tram is probably your best option. It's cheap, but crammed at times. You can also ride a bike if that's your thing, and if you get some extra money you could maybe get one of those motorbikes. If you're a baller a car would be the fancier option, but you don't look like you have that money on you, do you?
Politics: A city this big is never without its political troubles. The place is run by the council, 6 of the most powerful people in the city. There's also the congress, citizens chosen at random to pass laws. I heard there's quite the internal conflict going around inside the Council right now, so maybe try to steer clear from it?
Magic: Magic eh? We have quite a bit of that in here too. Sorcerers seem to also be fascinated by technology, tho some are here just to make trouble. If you happen to be one, you better go and get registered with the Iron Hands ASAP. You don't want to know what'll happen if they catch you unregistered and casting some fancy lights...
Law enforcement: Those would be the Iron Hands. They patrol around the city, catch criminals, and are overall quite the buzzkillers. Some of them also like to get a bit crazy with the power thing, so try not to cross them too.
If you happen to up real time the Blue Guard will come after you. If that happens, you don't know me, okay?
The Brengar: Big 'ole river that split the city in half. Head the Rose throws people that owes them money there, tho we all know they actually do that at the port. If they catch you throwing trash into the fine is pretty heavy, so no littering.
Alright, I could spend the rest of the day just talking about shit like landmarks and things to do, but you'll probably get bored halfway through it. So you know what? Go and get your ass kicked out there. It'll be fun.
People of interest
Nerys Willow: Current Mayor of the city. A woman whose face betrays her age, in a good way. It'll probably be hard to meet her in any official manner, but life finds a way.
Melania Breeze: She's a known member of the Blue Guard, and works directly under Nerys. She isn't exactly the best example when it comes to... well, anything really, she even used to be part of a gang. Anyways, she's on the side of the good guys now, I think...
Leah Parker: A catkin girl with a nose for gossip and trouble, but mostly gossip. You'll see her getting her nose in places she has no business being, and she'll probably already know you by the time you meet her.
Isabella Linus: That girl... She's a troublemaker, always has been. She's quite young, but already made quite the name for herself. Make sure to keep an eye on her hands, or your wallet might suddenly grow legs and hop onto her pockets. Apparently she's working with the Steamers now, but I head she's giving Krieg quite the headache.
Henrietta Maglione: A well known member of the black rose, and probably quite a high ranking one too. She might be small, but don't let that fool you, she's sent more people to sleep with the fishes than people you've shook hands with.
Fiona Lynch: Do not! Don't say that name again! That one... She's the leader of the Green Scarfs. Current one at least. Do not cross her, do not look at her if you find her. And if she happens to set her sights on you then start praying to every god, idol and spirit you know because you're done for.
Eleanor Stryx: She's better known as Madame Stryx. Self made woman, close to middle aged, unmarried. One of the richest merchants around the city, and if you ask me, I'd bet money that there's a lot of dirt on her to be dug out.
Claire Kenneth: The half gnome girl? I heard she's a tinkerer of sorts. Always a looking for scraps or books. Don't try anything funny with her, I head Krieg, the boss of the steamers, is her guardian. You'll be playing the guitar with your fingers backwards if you touch her.
Caroline Valentine: She looks good, I'll give you that, but she's with the iron hands. A fisty, as we call them. I don't think I've ever seen her smile, not even once. Maybe you'll be the lucky one that'll change that? Pff... I doubt it.
Carmen Guyot: She's a singer, the main one at "The Drunken Wolf". You can catch her there most nights, if not singing then drinking. There's also... a dangerous smell about her? But who knows, you might actually like that, don't you?
Alice Thomson: Alice? Yeah, that's one of the hounds. Bounty hunters of sorts. She's always all broody and working on another case. Also heard her uncle is in the council, but their relationship ain't that great.
Alaine Linwurt: Last, but certainly not least, Alaine is the eccentric master of the Black Sparrow Troupe. They own the large theatre in the city, and they're certainly quite the odd bunch. Honestly she's impossible to read some times...

What's happening around Karlia?
Like every other big city out there, there's always some trouble happening in Karlia. From a serial killer on the loose, to a Terrorist organization putting bombs under people's cars, and even some trouble that's been avoiding the public eye for a while now. Maybe you want to be the hero the city needs? Or who knows, maybe you'll join the bad guys for once?
Author notes
I spent a few months on and off working on this bot, that's why I've pretty much released nothing in this time. I made sure to make the world feel as alive and cohesive as possible, while having a large rooster of characters to interact with.
I mostly tested this with Deepseek v4 pro. The bot has enough tokens to make Vanilla JLLM have a stroke, but maybe the premium version can somewhat run it properly, tho I wouldn't count on it. I had to keep a lot of the info available all the time or the bot would just keep making shit up.
Hope you have fun getting to know the place, I kept a lot of stuff purposefully out of the bio to make it more interesting. Explore around, talk to the people and learn all about the stuff that's happening around Karlia.
Update 1: Seems like there were errors saving up some of the changes I did after publishing the bot (Fixing some typos and the intro images. Those should be fixed now, but lemme know if they break)
Also, remember to give me a follow if you like the stuff I do. I mostly work on fantasy bots, but I might return to Steampunk stuff if people like it (Or I feel like it).
Oh, and of course, Join the Moonlight Sanctum.
(And tell Shep to give us back 5mb gifs)
