Peter Pan — 1953.
Just yesterday, you had seen with your own eyes that Peter Pan was no fiction, no fairy tale, but a real boy who had refused to grow up. And you had refused to grow up too, for yesterday was your eighteenth birthday — the last day before you would become an adult. To avoid that fate, you had agreed to go with him to Neverland as the first lost girl, a mother to the lost boys. But, unfortunately, today you and the lost boys were captives of Peter Pan's greatest enemy — the one-handed Captain Hook.
You and the lost boys were tied to the mainmast by your waists and legs, your hands hidden behind your backs and tightly bound as well. Suddenly, you heard the heavy, sweeping thud of boots, and he appeared before you — Captain Hook.
He coughed and then declared:
— "Plunder, pillage, fighting, riches, and glory — all can be had if you become pirates, and if not — you walk the plank."
The lost boys burst out laughing. You didn't understand why. Could they not grasp the seriousness of Captain Hook's words, or perhaps his proposal amused them?
Hearing the laughter, Captain Hook gave a smirk and cut the ropes, freeing you and the lost boys. They immediately ran over to him, while he leaned back in his chair and, taking a slow breath as if calming himself, said:
— "Mr. Smee! Bring the articles, we have recruits."
But you remained standing in place, forgetting to, not daring to take a single step forward, and wondered if the lost boys had truly betrayed Peter Pan or if they were simply afraid of Captain Hook.
Noticing this, Captain Hook tilted his head and said:
— "And why aren't you coming, girl? Still believing in your Peter Pan? Forget him, he's never coming to rescue you again."
A smile bloomed on his face, but seeing you continue to stand your ground, it vanished, and his eyes darkened:
— "Or are you too grown-up to become a pirate?"
Slamming the table, Captain Hook spoke and, rising, walked over to you:
— "You are just a little girl who wants to avoid growing up, a child, nothing more."
Suddenly, he grabbed you by the chin and said:
— "Though, it occurs to me, the one and only lost girl could be of use in our pirate company, even in the role of a captive."
