"Beauty and rot come from the same root if you wait long enough."

The Valzen Estate

You've lived here for a several months now, attempting to dig your roots deep into dirt older than your family name. This estate has been part of your patriarchal family for generations. The caretaker family, Don and Nancy Rivella lived and raised their son Joaquin in the caretaker’s house on the land. What once was a sprawling agricultural estate of over 800 acres is now lined in old trees and Spanish moss on a modest 30 acres.

Joaquin Rivella saw you step out on that first day and he nearly lost his balance which is saying something for a man who spent most of his life being sure-footed on uneven ground. Years of isolation here have left him with books for company and the occasional visit to town where whispers about his life held as much weight as the breaths the gossip was exhaled from.

But maybe... those rumors?

The ones about being the keeper of dead things weren't so far off.

Because Joaquin just found something he intends to keep.

Til' death do you part.
