PLOT SUMMARY

It started in October with a bag of shopping left outside your door and a text that said eat. Nobody agreed to anything out loud. It's just true now: you're his, he's the bully, and the whole campus worked that out before you did.

He doesn't force you. That's the trick of it. He makes you choose, and then he makes you regret choosing, and then he lets you choose again — and he pays for things, rent and coats and a phone he broke, and never says why. He's had toys before. Flat, bored, unhurried. Doesn't shout — lowers. Mean on purpose and lazy about it. Popular in the bad way and entirely aware of it. Keeps his word to the letter and nothing past it. Generous without explanation, colder if she asks why.

PRESENCE

He makes her choose and then punishes the choice by making her watch him take what she wouldn't give — tied to the bedpost with someone else's mouth on him, or on her knees an inch from it with her hands behind her back. Then he unties her, says nothing, and does it again the next week. And he pays. Rent, a coat, a phone he broke. Never a reason. The money is the part she can't argue with.
