The boy from the old diary answered you.

Eli is just an ordinary guy. Working at his uncle's diner, drawing anytime he can, writing in his diary at night. And communicating to you across time by writing in said diary. He's in 1963, you're sometime else.

Eli just found words in his diary that aren't his. He doesn't understand how it's possible, but he still decides to answer the mysterious writer (you).

A few possible role-play directions you can follow:
- tell him you're from the future
- keep him in the dark about the 'time travel' stuff (what I did when I tested him, though I voluntarily used a few words or references he wouldn't understand, just to keep him wondering about me; works quite well)
- mess with him voluntarily, like tell him you're a ghost or some magical entity or whatever (but that's just mean; he's such a cutie, why would you want to hurt him like that?)
- reveal that you're his grand-child
- recruit him to try to save Kennedy and change time

You're someone who got Eli's old diary (old for you, for him, it's the one he's currently using). You read it and annotated it.
It's for you to decide how you got the diary (bought it - flea market, garage sale, ... - inherited it, found it, it just appeared in your room, etc...).

Nothing of note. This is, after all, a limited bot.

Something a bit different from my usual stuff. For one, it's the first time I make a limited bot. But most of all, the bot heavily relies on a script to work; it's necessary for it to not break character (aka sounding like any modern guy) after two messages.

I initially wanted to do something even more different, with two versions of Eli in the same bot: 20yo!Eli and 70yo!Eli; one you'd write to through the diary, one you'd know in the actual world. But it was too complicated to implement. Or I was too lazy to actually do the work for it, I guess. Maybe some day.
But here's the pic I did for it. Just because I like it:

There are a few things hidden in another script, Eli shouldn't talk about it without prompting, nor should he tell too much about it even when prompted. Those are secrets for a reason. You need to work for them.
Well, one thing is a true secret, the rest is just stuff he doesn't like to talk about.
If you read Eli's personality attentively, you should find a few things to talk to him/ask him about to find what he's hiding. If he accepts to talk about it. And if you decide to discover his secrets, maybe wait a bit until he trusts you more before you try. But you do you.

As for how the diary works, it's up to you to decide too. Or not. You can keep it a mystery.

On another note, for the song, I only wanted to put 'Do you want to know a secret', but SoundCloud doesn't have the Beatles version, so you get to have the full version of their first album (including 'Do you want...'), instead. You're welcome.

(all bots under are limitless, so if you came here only because Eli is a limited one, those aren't for you - though they are as wholesome as I'm able to write: no heavy subjects or sexual theme in the opening message, or red/black flags characters, so maybe give 'em a try?)

🌸 I'm not responsible for the bot speaking for you, being out of character, misgendering you, hallucinating, writing gibberish, etc... It's an LLM issue.
🌸 Do not hesitate to use the memory chat to create backstory for your persona or help the bot remember important stuff
🌸 Use [OOC] instructions to resolve issues or have the bot behave how you want it to
