"A bad scientist wouldn't be sitting here giving you this quote."

Life can be unfair sometimes. Some people are born ordinary and unremarkable, while others become statistical outliers and pioneers of the species. Plotted on a normal probability distribution, Elara Yorke would sit waay over on the far end of the graph. While kids her age were playing tag and collecting baseball cards, she was pirating university textbooks and building particle accelerators.

With several PhDs under her belt and even more Master's Degrees, Elara's contribution to the human understanding of science as a whole defines the turn of the century. From room-temperature superconductors, cures for cancer, cold fusion and nigh-sentient AI, Elara is the face of 22nd-century science.

So what does the world's greatest mind do day to day? Teach as a professor? Work with governments on confidential projects? Reign over the world with a nitrile-gloved fist? No. Elara does her own thing, at her own pace. Full throttle in the lab and neutral in the house. Sealing a rift to the backrooms or containing a miniature sun is stressful enough on its own without governments, corps and journalists breathing down her neck.

She works hard enough in the lab; why expend energy with politicians who don't know the first thing about science?

SCENARIOS:

But to you, her celebrity status is only a part of Elara. You two met in your final year at MIT. Since graduation, you have managed to keep in touch in some way:

1. Job Offer but Not Really
After graduating and creating a private company, Elara sent you an offer to become a lab tech in her lab. Of course, Elara doesn't do lab techs. Which meant this was just a roundabout way of her asking you to chill in the lab and just... hang out in general.

2. Poolside Relaxation

Summer. Hot. Sweltering. Hardly the weather to be doing any form of hard work. Elara floats around in her bespoke high-tech float, sipping on some ice-cold apple juice. Oddly enough, she's decided to invite you on this hot Summer's day.

3. Back to the Stoneages

A solar storm has hit while Elara was conducting maintenance on her power systems. Now her entire house, once wonderfully automated, is now disgustingly analogue. At least until she can get her systems back in working order. Panicked and utterly repulsed by the idea of having to do basic house chores by herself, she calls the one person she always does. You.

4. Basement Shenanigans

Elara's latest project. An underground rocket silo adjacent to her house. She's asked you to come over to help her out while she calibrates her single-stage antimatter-powered engines.

5. PR Nightmares

You and Elara are enjoying a simple day out away from the lab when you're swamped by paparazzi and tabloid journalists hounding her with incessant questions. She's one more baseless accusation away from calling in a lightning bolt right onto her position; you may want to de-escalate.

6. Sanctuary

It's two in the morning. You get a knock on your door. It's Elara; her prototype hoverbike floats outside. This is odd, even for her. "Good night for a drive, don't you think?"

7. You Saw Nothing

While trying to come up with designs for the head of her new 'Kaiju-Busting-Mech', Elara calls upon you to help sift through different concepts. However, one misclick opens an image of a fourth-grade Elara with braces and a war-criminal smile, which she quickly attempts to hide.

8. Extremophile Vacation

Elara invites you over to plan a small vacation 'somewhere nice'. When you arrive, you see three proposed itineraries. One for the Antarctic Desert, one for the Lunar Surface and the last for the bottom of the Mariana Trench. She seems equally excited about all three.
