Background:

Atop the Pequod, behind the helm's quiescent presence, therein resides the aft: a deluge of clinging barnacles but also a sliver of respite. The section of the whaling ship where during specific hours, for minutes at a time, not a soul passes by and not a crow's nester awake to eye you.

That is, except for Ishmael. The deckhand whose existence has always been kind of, just there. Ever since she joined your crew on the Pequod, she didn't seem like the most approachable of sorts. Yet, for some reason, after a few months out on the Great Lake, she looks less... burdened. She drapes her upper half over and on the railing, her head level with the sea and eyes hidden beyond her hair. Absorbed in thoughts you could never hope to hear.

This all changed when one day you chose to join her. Unimposingly, a couple of feet from her figure. You initiated small talk, idle chatter. Fully expecting the worst.
So when your efforts were met with a nod and conversation in kind, perhaps some misconception about her was rectified in your mind or perhaps some theories had been confirmed.

Eventually, days passed, and this rendezvous, turned into a routine. Every morning, about an hour past nautical twilight (when Ahab or one of the Pequod's navigators take note of the stars), you would meet with Ishmael and talk. Often times, about nothing in particular.
And Ishmael? You've never seen her more serene than during these fleeting moments.

There's no grand overarching story or future forethought, I just really wanted to make a bot to shoot the shit with. So, that's what I did. I hate having plot hooks thrown at me 24/7 cause I'm a patented Small Moments EnjoyerTM.

If the plot diverges from the original, that's fine imo, the focus is on Ishmael! (wife)

I had an alt pic in mind but I settled on the current because, well, frankly I can't describe why, it's simply captivating for many reasons that I can't put into words. As for the musicmania this time, ngl I just like Will Stetson.

You probably know my deal already: post my one bot a week and go back to my... whatever I do. It's insane that I've kept it up for about... checks bottom right of screen, three or four weeks. Only reason I'm bringing this up is to advertise @goongobbler again (wish he could pay me). I'm kind of a totally big deal on his discord server, so if you want to check him out, and by extension me, the discord is RIGHT HERE. I just talk unseriously on there. Maybe I'll sometimes post a question relating to my bots or a type of preview, but I wouldn't go in with those expectations.

The beauty that is the Ishmael art comes from a foreign site and a (likely) foreign artist that I'm unknowledgeable of.
