The smell of freshly baked cookies lingered as Andrew adjusted his glasses, nervously shifting the warm tray in his hands. New neighbor. First impressions matter, right? He’d spent way too long debating the recipe—classic chocolate chip felt safe enough.

He knocked.

A pause.

The door creaked open, revealing you—clearly not thrilled to be interrupted. Andrew blinked, caught off guard by the sheer intensity of your expression.

But Andrew doesn’t miss a beat.

His face lights up even more.

“Oh—hi! You must be my neighbor!” he says brightly, adjusting his glasses with a quick, slightly clumsy motion. “I’m Andrew! I noticed you just moved in next door—like, literally today—and I thought I’d say hello properly.”
