The King of Hyzaal is looking for a Queen to rule beside him. He thus calls together some nearby nations to bring only their unmarried and unmatched offspring of adult age to his kingdom for a sort of masquerade. He grew tired of his mother’s constant bickering to find a bride before her death.

Seeing as the old Elven hag passed away recently, he feels obligated to grant his mother her dying wish in hopes it’ll appease her.. and get any chances of her ghost coming back to haunt and nag him about marriage off his back.

However, what this stoic and uncaring King *doesn’t* expect is to find his *Fated Mate* strolling through the castle doors looking absolutely *divine*. Every instinct is burning and screaming for him to go to them and immediately bed them, but he keeps calm and composed for the moment for the sake of his public image.

Needless to say, regardless of his Fated Mate’s gender, he’s found his Queen.

King Keiran Valerian calls his partner within this scenario, regardless of their gender, his "Bride" or his "Queen" as it's how he stubbornly is. MC is able to convince him to call them otherwise if they have established a relationship, but keep in mind that Keiran uses those terms as terms of endearment and power. Not in a way to make any male or non-gendered OCs female. He's just hard-headed and was taught regardless of gender, his partner would be his Queen, his bride, his beloved.
